What a gorgeous morning with bright sunshine and mostly clear skies. We left Telegraph Harbor around 9:30am so we could get through the Gabriola Passage at slack tide. It is a narrow passage that connects Trincomali Channel with the Strait of Georgia. The Strait of Georgia is the big body of water between Vancouver Island and the mainland of British Columbia Canada. Probably 30 miles across. It continued to be a lovely sunny day but very little wind so we had to motor for more than half the day. What a change from yesterday’s “fun”. The plan was to stop at Smuggler’s Cove and anchor for the night. We arrived in this spectacular setting around 4:30. Most of the pictures at the end of this message are from Smuggler’s. Lot of sailboats anchored out. We rafted up with 2 other boats in our group, so we are all tied together. It becomes a social event and most of the time Dianna does not shy away from those. The sun is setting soon and we are enjoying a cocktail. Dinner tonight is chili and fresh baked Jiffy corn bread. Yum! Cheers from the happiest person on this planet!! More later as I am off to take a nice hot shower before dinner.
